How to add ChatME to Shopify

Before you start: The assistant works on any Shopify plan (added in the theme code). On ChatME’s E-commerce plan it also connects natively to your store’s orders —with the Client ID and Client secret of a Shopify Dev Dashboard app with the read_orders scope— to answer about real orders.

Copy your install snippet
In ChatME, open “Website” (under “Channels”) and, in “Install on your website”, copy your assistant’s snippet.

Open your theme code
In Shopify, go to Online Store → Themes → … → Edit code.

Edit theme.liquid
Open the “theme.liquid” file in the Layout folder.

Paste the snippet before </head>
Paste the code just before the closing </head> tag and save.

Open your site and check
Reload your page. The assistant button appears at the bottom-right. If not, clear the cache and try again.
