A chatbot for Jobber: ChatME lands on the App Marketplace (and how it compares with Jobber's Receptionist)

ChatME now installs straight from Jobber's App Marketplace: the listing was approved on September 10, 2026 and went live on the 11th. Since that marketplace already holds more than twenty apps promising you will "never miss a call", and Jobber ships its own AI Receptionist, the honest thing is to explain what each one does and where ours fits, rather than claim ours is the best.

What Jobber's marketplace offers today for answering customers

As of September 12, 2026, the apps on Jobber's App Marketplace that talk to customers on your behalf fall into three families, and it pays to know which one you are shopping in before you compare prices:

  • AI phone receptionists. They answer the business line, qualify the caller and create the request or the visit in Jobber: Convoforms, IsOn24, ServiceAgent, William AI, CallCrewAI, Fulltime AI and Jobclock (a dedicated phone line used only for scheduling). The listings we opened, such as Jobclock and LeadTruffle, state availability in the United States and Canada.
  • Missed-call text-back. When you cannot pick up, they text the caller instantly, collect the details and create the request: Conju, AdaptLocal, SnapPicFix, Signpost or Requestify. LeadTruffle bundles voice, SMS, email and several lead platforms into one inbox, with plans from $229/month according to its own listing.
  • Website chat assistants. They talk to whoever lands on your site and turn the visit into a client and a request inside Jobber: XAPP AI (chat, scheduler and search for your website, plus an assistant for your Google Business Profile), RenoFiz LeadPilot (analyzes project photos and gives a ballpark estimate) and ChatME.

And, apart from the apps, there is Jobber's own Receptionist, which is not a marketplace app but a feature of the platform.

One detail almost nobody checks when comparing: going by the descriptions published on the marketplace on that date, no other app describes answering Instagram or Facebook Messenger direct messages, and only JustCall (a phone system) mentions WhatsApp. If that is where your customers write to you, the comparison gets short quickly.

What Jobber's Receptionist does, with its numbers

Jobber's Receptionist is an AI receptionist built into Jobber that answers calls and texts around the clock, answers questions about the business, creates requests and, if you allow it, books, reschedules or cancels visits. Jobber announced general availability in August 2025, with more than 200,000 conversations handled by then.

What Jobber's own documentation says today:

It is included with unlimited usage on the Plus plan ($399/month, billed annually) and, on the other plans, it is an add-on at $29/month for 30 conversations, then $0.79 per additional conversation. A call counts once the AI actually engages the caller; a text thread counts as a single conversation for 24 hours.
It needs a dedicated phone number in Jobber, and those numbers are only available in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

The Receptionist also answers by chat on the web, but only on websites built with Jobber's own site builder: you switch it on from that site's editor, and it is included on every plan. If your site runs on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or was built by an agency, that chat cannot be embedded there.

Do not confuse it with Jobber AI Chat and Voice: those two are an assistant for you and your team (asking about your own data, creating quotes by voice from the mobile app). They do not talk to your customers.

Where ChatME fits, and what it does not do

ChatME is an AI assistant that answers your customers on the channels they already use to reach you and leaves the result inside Jobber. You train the assistant once on your website, your services and your pricing, and it answers the same way everywhere:

What it leaves in your Jobber is concrete: every enquiry with buying intent becomes a client + request, tagged "ChatME" as the lead source; if the email or phone already exists, it reuses that client instead of duplicating it. And an existing client can check, reschedule or cancel their appointment from the chat, after confirming the email and phone on their Jobber record. Jobber leads; your ChatME dashboard keeps a log of every request saved and every appointment changed.

What ChatME does not do, so you do not find out after signing up:

  • It does not answer phone calls. If your problem is the line ringing while you are on a job, the answer is Jobber's Receptionist or one of the voice receptionists on the marketplace, not ChatME.
  • It does not book a specific time slot in your Jobber calendar. It creates the request with every detail and you schedule the visit as usual; it can move or cancel appointments that already exist.
  • It does not replace Jobber for anything. Quotes, invoices, routes and crew stay where they are.

Pricing works differently too: the Jobber integration is included in ChatME's Pro plan at €79/month, with unlimited conversations and WhatsApp Business included, so nothing is counted and nothing is charged for the extra one (pricing). The assistant answers in 60+ languages, detecting the customer's, and it is available in every country: it needs no phone number at all.

Which one to pick, based on how your customers reach you

The deciding question is not "which is best" but where your customers come from:

  • They call you, mostly in the US or Canada. Jobber's Receptionist is the most direct option: it is already inside, it switches on with a dedicated number and it files requests where they belong. If you need finer scheduling rules, look at Jobclock or a voice receptionist from the marketplace.
  • They write to you through your website, WhatsApp or Instagram, whether you are an installer in Valencia, a cleaning company in Mexico City or a landscaper in Florida with a WordPress site. That is where ChatME earns its keep: one assistant, every channel, every enquiry turned into a Jobber request. On our platform, 39.6% of enquiries arrive outside 9am to 7pm (a sample of 7,694 conversations, February to July 2026); those are the ones being lost today.
  • Both. They do not step on each other: the Receptionist covers the phone, ChatME covers the website and social channels, and both leave requests in the same Jobber. ChatME reuses the record when the client already exists, so it does not fill your client list with duplicates.

How to install ChatME from Jobber's marketplace

  1. Open the ChatME listing on the App Marketplace and click Connect. Jobber asks you to allow access (you need Jobber's Core plan or higher).
  2. Jobber sends you to ChatME. If you have no account yet, you create it right there; the integration comes with the Pro plan.
  3. Click Connect Jobber in your ChatME dashboard to complete the connection. From then on, every qualified enquiry appears in Jobber as a client + request with "ChatME" as the lead source.

You can also start from the other side, in your ChatME dashboard, with the same result. The steps with screenshots, the cases where the connection fails and what happens with the timezone of appointments are in the connection guide; the full integration page is at ChatME + Jobber.

Frequently asked questions

Does ChatME replace Jobber's Receptionist? No. The Receptionist handles calls and texts; ChatME handles website chat, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. They complement each other, and both create requests in the same Jobber.

Does it work outside the US and Canada? Yes, in every country. ChatME does not depend on a dedicated phone number, which is what limits the Receptionist to the US, Canada and the UK.

Which Jobber plan do I need? Core or higher to connect any marketplace app, ChatME included. On ChatME, the Pro plan (€79/month), which brings unlimited conversations and WhatsApp Business.

Can one client see another client's appointments? No. To access an appointment you must give the email and phone on that Jobber record, and the verification is scoped to that client.

Does it create quotes in Jobber? No. It creates the client and the request with what the customer needs; you build the quote in Jobber, as always.
