“Where's my order?” over WhatsApp: how your assistant answers without you putting down what you're doing
“Where's my order?” messages land on WhatsApp, not your website chat. How the ChatME assistant answers with real store data, the same verification as always, and what it never does.

It's ten in the morning, you're packing yesterday's orders, and the business WhatsApp won't stop: "where's my order?", "I ordered it Monday, has it shipped?", "the tracking number isn't working." None of those messages is a new sale, but each one makes you put down the packing tape, open the store admin, search the order by name, and type out the same answer you've already typed ten times this week.
The reason these land on WhatsApp instead of your website chat is simple: it's the app the customer already has open, and your number is on the receipt, the confirmation email, or the purchase conversation itself. They're not going to open your website to ask something they can ask right where they're already writing to you.
The same question, now on the channel where they write to you
If you connect your store to ChatME, your assistant already knows how to answer "where's my order?" with real data — we cover that in detail for your website chat here. What changes here is the channel: with WhatsApp Business connected, it's the same assistant, with the same access to your store, answering in the conversation where the customer is already writing.
The conversation works the same way:
The customer writes "where's my order?" to your WhatsApp number.
The assistant asks for three pieces of information, in short messages at chat pace: order number, the email used to buy, and last name.
It checks your store — Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce or PrestaShop — right then.
If the three match, it replies with the real status: preparing, shipped, carrier and tracking number if one already exists.
This isn't the web chat with a different logo bolted on: as the WhatsApp page itself puts it, "on your website it shows a form; on WhatsApp it asks for those same details conversationally, in short messages at chat pace" — the same intelligence, adapted to how people actually write on WhatsApp.
Verification doesn't change because the channel does
Handing out order status by chat demands the same rigour wherever the customer writes it. ChatME applies the same triple verification on WhatsApp as on the website: order number + email + last name all have to match exactly, the check happens server-side — the AI doesn't decide it, so nobody talks the bot out of it by saying "it's me, I own the store" — and if the details don't match, the reply is identical whether or not that order even exists. Nobody can use your WhatsApp to guess someone else's order.
The connection to your store is read-only: the assistant checks status, but it doesn't modify orders, cancel anything, or issue refunds on its own. If a customer asks for a return, the assistant explains your policy and logs the request — the refund is your call, same as on the website.
What you need and what it costs
Getting this on WhatsApp takes two things from the same plan: the store connection (Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce or PrestaShop) and the WhatsApp Business channel. Both are included in the E-commerce plan, which costs €99/month (€999/year, ~€83/month) and includes everything in the Pro plan. There's no per-conversation cost: Meta doesn't charge for messages your customers send you or for service conversations, and your assistant never messages on its own, so it never generates billable templates.
Connecting the number doesn't touch your existing WhatsApp: with the "keep your phone" option, you keep writing from your WhatsApp Business app as usual, and when you reply to a customer yourself, the assistant steps back in that conversation for a while so you're not talking over each other. You connect it yourself from your dashboard, following the WhatsApp Business connection guide; the store connects separately, with a read-only credential, in the Commerce section of your dashboard.
The limits, plainly
The assistant reads text. Same as on Instagram and Messenger, if a customer sends a photo of a damaged package or a voice note instead of typing, the assistant can't interpret it — it politely asks them to type it out, and that conversation stays logged in your dashboard for you to pick up. It also doesn't invent a delivery date your store doesn't have: if an order hasn't shipped yet, it says so and explains that tracking will follow once it does. And if your store is slow to respond, the assistant apologises and offers your contact details — it never makes up a status.
For a business with a lot of shipments and little time to be watching the phone all day, the gain isn't just time: the question gets answered on the spot, without the customer waiting for you to put down whatever you're doing.
If your store isn't connected yet, start by connecting Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce or PrestaShop from the Commerce section of your dashboard; if it already is and you're just missing WhatsApp, that connection takes a few minutes.
